Description
The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) assigns demerit points to each moving violation. The number of demerit points depends on the severity of the traffic violation. For example, if you receive a speeding ticket for going between 1-9 mph above the posted speed limit, you could receive 3 demerit points. If you accumulate too many demerit points, you could lose your driving privileges.
